RAIFORD ROGERS MODERN BALLET
In Motion
A living dialogue between sound and movement
2026
This collaboration brings Hui Wu’s music into physical space, where sound becomes movement and rhythm becomes gesture. Dancing to her recorded tracks, the ballet company translates musical structure into motion, shaping choreography that responds to phrasing, pulse, and emotional contour. Performed on both concert grand piano and centuries-old pipe organs, Hui’s music carries a wide sonic spectrum, from intimacy to monumentality. For her, this ongoing partnership has been deeply nourishing, a rare artistic exchange in which music is not only heard but embodied. Watching sound take form through dancers’ bodies has become one of her most cherished creative experiences, reaffirming her belief that music lives most fully when it moves beyond the instrument and into shared human expression.
